Hello, Sia here! I’m a warm, energetic and empathetic visual artist, arts educator, counsellor and mum of two.
I love building connections through sharing the things I love with family, friends and community; making art and craft (ALL sorts), gardening, bike riding, spending time relaxing in and exploring nature, campfires, picnics, bush walking, cooking, op shopping, personal styling based on colour theory (a new obsession, you’re welcome;) and making spaces beautiful (home styling and diy projects).
I can offer reliable, responsive support two to three days per week, with creative, social, home help, transport, education, or health goals and am available weekdays, Saturday evenings and Sundays in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.

Hi I’m Laurie. I am highly experienced in the accounting world, including experience in an accounting firm, accounting management in the retail sector & in bookkeeping businesses.
Working as Accounts/Payroll manager at Support Solutions Australia, in the disability environment, is a refreshing and rewarding experience. I enjoy meeting and working with our large staff base, including our many caring support workers, our amazing management team and of course our wonderful clients.
In my downtime I enjoy walking my gorgeous little Aussie Shepherd, lots of beach time with him and hubby. And catching up, when we can, with our 5 adult kids.
Operations Manager
With over two decades of experience in early childhood education, I transitioned into the disability sector to apply my deep knowledge of human development, mentoring, and community engagement in a new and impactful way. I have always been drawn to roles that allow me to nurture growth and connection, and the disability sector offers a powerful space where I can continue making a difference—both in leadership and hands-on practice.
As Operations Manager, I bring a strategic yet compassionate approach to my role, supporting both our participants and the dedicated support workers who support them. I believe that patience, empathy, and active listening are fundamental in building trust and achieving the best outcomes. I don’t just manage from the desk, I believe in leading by example- I provide direct support to our clients, working at ground level to understand firsthand the needs of participants and support staff. This hands-on involvement is core to our organisation’s culture and is something we pride ourselves on. As an Operations Manager, I’m passionate about supporting people with disabilities to build their independence and feel connected to their communities.
One of the things I value most in this sector is its diversity—no two days are ever the same. I am constantly learning and being challenged, which fuels both my professional growth and personal fulfilment. Helping people with disabilities build capacity and independence isn’t just work—it’s purpose. For me, it’s more than a job—it’s about making a difference in people’s lives and giving back to the community in a meaningful way.|
I hold a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) from Charles Sturt University and have worked as a passionate advocate for children and their families throughout my career. Today, I continue that advocacy—supporting individuals, teams, and systems to create more inclusive, empowered communities.
PS as a form of relaxation I race cars to unwind!
Operations Assistant
With over 10 years of experience in the media industry, I developed strong skills in communication, stakeholder engagement, organisation, and relationship management. While my career in media was both rewarding and fulfilling, I reached a point where I wanted to challenge myself professionally and pursue a path that aligned more closely with my passion for making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
This led me to transition into the community services sector, where I undertook studies in Community Services and began supporting students within the education sector, particularly in areas relating to financial assistance and support. Through this experience, I gained valuable insight into the importance of empowering individuals to overcome barriers and achieve their personal goals.
My journey eventually introduced me to the NDIS sector, where I discovered a genuine passion for supporting participants and contributing to positive outcomes within their lives. I am particularly motivated by the operational aspects of the sector, ensuring that participants have access to suitable living arrangements, meaningful community participation, enhanced quality of life, capacity-building opportunities, and the support required to achieve their individual goals.
I am driven by a person-centred approach and take pride in contributing to services that create lasting, positive impacts for individuals and their families. I value collaboration, continuous learning, and delivering outcomes that support independence, choice, and inclusion.
Alongside my professional ambitions, I strongly believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Family is incredibly important to me and remains a core priority in my life. I believe that balancing personal wellbeing with professional commitment allows me to bring my best self to both my career and my family, creating a sustainable and fulfilling approach to success.
Chief Executive Officer
I have spent my career working alongside people facing barriers, supporting individuals, families, and communities to build lives of strength, dignity and possibility.
My journey in the disability space began in Africa, where I spent over 14 years working in the not-for-profit sector, including serving as Deputy Director of an organisation delivering education, social work, healthcare, allied health, nutrition and community development services. In this senior leadership role, I oversaw programs, operations and finance, and led a diverse team committed to supporting people with disability and those experiencing deep disadvantage. It was in this environment, marked by limited resources and extraordinary resilience, that I developed a deep belief in the power of people to thrive when given the right support.
I hold a postgraduate degree in Psychology and have always been passionate about supporting people in a way that honours both their independence and individuality. Over the years, I have built and led high-performing teams, embedded strength-based, person-centred practices, and worked to ensure that services are meaningful, responsive and sustainable.
My time in conservation leadership with the Jane Goodall Institute in Australia was invaluable. I am now proud to continue my journey working directly with people in a field that is deeply personal and purpose-driven to me; supporting people with disability to live with choice, control and connection, and leading a team of changemakers who want to make a real difference in others’ lives.
I acknowledge that the NDIS is not without its challenges. But coming from a part of the world where even the most basic supports are often out of reach, I feel fortunate to be working in a country where there is both the will and the infrastructure to support people with disability more fully. I understand the complexities of delivering flexible, high-quality support under the NDIS, and am committed to making the experience easier for participants and their families.
It is a privilege to lead Support Solutions Australia, a team of dedicated local professionals who care deeply about delivering safe, high-quality supports that help individuals achieve their goals and live with purpose, independence and connection.

My name is Kim. I have been working at the cafe on and off since October 2022. I started at the Mayfield Cafe at the Coliseum and worked until March 2023, after which I took a break off work due to personal reasons.
I returned to the Mayfield Cafe in July 2023 and worked there until August 2024. Then I transferred to Boolaroo, where I worked at Cup of Kindness from the start of September 2024. I have been working for Cup of Kindness ever since.
During my time working at the Cafe, I have acquired a number of useful skills, including customer service, making coffee, preparing and serving food and cleaning. I always make sure I get to work a little early because I love to have a cup of coffee before I start.
I feel I have grown in maturity since my first day at Mayfield back in 2022. I believe this is in part due to the inclusiveness at work and the support of the wonderful people I work with.
Only one word to describe my experience at Cup of Kindness… amazing.

I am a 22-year-old soccer referee with over 10 years of experience, currently officiating regularly in local 1st grade competitions. When I’m not on the field, you’ll find me behind the coffee machine at Cup of Kindness, where I’ve been crafting brews and perfecting my latte art for the past year. Passionate about both care and leadership, I am dedicated to supporting others—whether it’s guiding participants in the workplace or mentoring on the pitch. In my downtime, I enjoy taking to the skies, flying planes as a personal hobby.

I have been with Support Solutions Australia for a little over 3 years now. I feel encouraged, supported and inspired to show up and be the best version of myself every day, and that has never changed from day one. That is a massive thank you to Irene; from making sure everyone’s day is running smoothly, all the way down to making sure her support staff are feeling supported and appreciated, she does it all.
The participants we have on board with us are all from very different walks in life, each have a different story to tell and let you see a new perspective on life. They are the number one reason I love my job so much.
Sometimes support work can get a little hard, but that’s never been a worry here. The amazing team of support workers we have, not only support our participants, but also support each other when we need it. Working here is like being in a really, really big family!
I am and always will be a proud member of Support Solutions Australia and I am so excited to see where the future takes the company!
