With over 10 years of experience in the media industry, I developed strong skills in communication, stakeholder engagement, organisation, and relationship management. While my career in media was both rewarding and fulfilling, I reached a point where I wanted to challenge myself professionally and pursue a path that aligned more closely with my passion for making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
This led me to transition into the community services sector, where I undertook studies in Community Services and began supporting students within the education sector, particularly in areas relating to financial assistance and support. Through this experience, I gained valuable insight into the importance of empowering individuals to overcome barriers and achieve their personal goals.
My journey eventually introduced me to the NDIS sector, where I discovered a genuine passion for supporting participants and contributing to positive outcomes within their lives. I am particularly motivated by the operational aspects of the sector, ensuring that participants have access to suitable living arrangements, meaningful community participation, enhanced quality of life, capacity-building opportunities, and the support required to achieve their individual goals.
I am driven by a person-centred approach and take pride in contributing to services that create lasting, positive impacts for individuals and their families. I value collaboration, continuous learning, and delivering outcomes that support independence, choice, and inclusion.
Alongside my professional ambitions, I strongly believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Family is incredibly important to me and remains a core priority in my life. I have spent my career working alongside people facing barriers, supporting individuals, families, and communities to build lives of strength, dignity and possibility.
My journey in the disability space began in Africa, where I spent over 14 years working in the not-for-profit sector, including serving as Deputy Director of an organisation delivering education, social work, healthcare, allied health, nutrition and community development services. In this senior leadership role, I oversaw programs, operations and finance, and led a diverse team committed to supporting people with disability and those experiencing deep disadvantage. It was in this environment, marked by limited resources and extraordinary resilience, that I developed a deep belief in the power of people to thrive when given the right support.
I hold a postgraduate degree in Psychology and have always been passionate about supporting people in a way that honours both their independence and individuality. Over the years, I have built and led high-performing teams, embedded strength-based, person-centred practices, and worked to ensure that services are meaningful, responsive and sustainable.
My time in conservation leadership with the Jane Goodall Institute in Australia was invaluable. I am now proud to continue my journey working directly with people in a field that is deeply personal and purpose-driven to me; supporting people with disability to live with choice, control and connection, and leading a team of changemakers who want to make a real difference in others’ lives.
I acknowledge that the NDIS is not without its challenges. But coming from a part of the world where even the most basic supports are often out of reach, I feel fortunate to be working in a country where there is both the will and the infrastructure to support people with disability more fully. I understand the complexities of delivering flexible, high-quality support under the NDIS, and am committed to making the experience easier for participants and their families.

Hi! I’m Elizabeth. I’ve been working in disability support for over 10 years, and it’s something I’m genuinely passionate about. I love getting to know people and being part of their journey—whether that’s helping build new skills, supporting daily life at home, or out in the community. My goal is always to bring a positive, respectful vibe and help people feel confident and valued.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me reading, going for walks, drawing, puzzling, or gaming. I’m also a big Dungeons & Dragons fan—yep, I’m a nerd and proud of it!

I’m Emmett, and I’ve been a support worker with Support Solutions Australia for two years now. I have experience supporting individuals across a vast range of abilities and personalities, and I’m passionate about helping my clients achieve success in whatever form that takes.
As a current Primary Education student, I bring a teaching mindset to my work – always aiming to empower clients in their personal goals, skill development, and community involvement, just as I would one of my students. I strive to create a space where people feel valued, respected, and free to express themselves authentically.
Outside of work, I’m passionate about nature, music, travel, and spending time with the people I love. I enjoy hiking, camping, rock climbing, and days at the beach or out on the boat. I spend a lot of time playing and listening to music, and I’m currently teaching myself piano, guitar and ukulele. I also love travelling the world, experiencing diverse cultures, and meeting new people from all sorts of backgrounds. When I’m at home, I enjoy building lego, watching the Formula 1, and playing the occasional video game.

My name is Kim. I have been working at the cafe on and off since October 2022. I started at the Mayfield Cafe at the Coliseum and worked until March 2023, after which I took a break off work due to personal reasons.
I returned to the Mayfield Cafe in July 2023 and worked there until August 2024. Then I transferred to Boolaroo, where I worked at Cup of Kindness from the start of September 2024. I have been working for Cup of Kindness ever since.
During my time working at the Cafe, I have acquired a number of useful skills, including customer service, making coffee, preparing and serving food and cleaning. I always make sure I get to work a little early because I love to have a cup of coffee before I start.
I feel I have grown in maturity since my first day at Mayfield back in 2022. I believe this is in part due to the inclusiveness at work and the support of the wonderful people I work with.

I have been with Support Solutions Australia for a little over 3 years now. I feel encouraged, supported and inspired to show up and be the best version of myself every day, and that has never changed from day one. The participants we have on board with us are all from very different walks in life, each have a different story to tell and let you see a new perspective on life. They are the number one reason I love my job so much.
Sometimes support work can get a little hard, but that’s never been a worry here. The amazing team of support workers we have, not only support our participants, but also support each other when we need it. Working here is like being in a really, really big family!

I am an experienced support worker having dedicated the past 10 years to working in the disability and mental health sector within the NDIS, supporting participants to continue living their best lives. I also have 20 years experience working in the hospitality industry throughout the Blue Mountains, Newcastle and the Hunter region.
I like all things creative. Music, movies and the occasional good book. I also like cooking, coffee, op-shopping and spending time with my pets and family. I appreciate most sports but I’m not a fanatic. I am always open to new adventures and challenges.
